Ringo Starr – Oct. 10th in Penticton at South Okanagan Event Center

Fresh off a February/March 2015 All Starr Tour, Ringo announces another string of tour dates with his current All-Starr Band, bringing the band he doesn’t want to stop playing with coast-to-coast across North America from October 1 to October 31. Prior to the tour onSeptember 21, Ringo and Genesis Publications will publish his photography book, PHOTOGRAPH, in wide release. This Spring will see the March 31 release of Ringo’s new album, POSTCARDS FROM PARADISE, by Universal Music Enterprises, and on April 18, he will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, where he will be honored with the Award for Musical Excellence.
In PHOTOGRAPH, Ringo Starr reveals never-before-seen photographs and mementos from his archives, sharing memories of his childhood, The Beatles and beyond. Ringo’s lens captures his Beatles bandmates in pensive and playful moments, portraying them from the point of view of an insider, friend and skilled photographer. In an original manuscript of over 15,000 words, join Ringo growing up amidst the excitement of the emerging Merseybeat scene, as he remembers his first car, drum-kits, girls and bands on his ‘road of happy drumming’. From Pwllheli to Delhi, obscurity to superstardom, his travels are recounted with honesty and hilarity.
That same honesty and hilarity continues on the road now with the All-Starrs, with whom he has forged a bond that is evident in every show they play. Ringo’s playful spirit also comes across through his Twitter, where he shares his candid and of-the-moment photographs and trademark humor.
“I love pictures put together, showing different times of your life, “Ringo said about the book, “At the time, I never thought that there would be a whole book of my photographs.”
PHOTOGRAPH was originally conceived as a limited edition book of only 2,500 copies, which sold out within weeks. Two years later, Ringo Starr and Genesis Publications announce the ‘Open Edition’ – a more accessible and affordable printing of his book to be released in bookstores this September 2015. The author is donating all royalties to the Lotus Foundation.

MIKE EDEL TO RELEASE INDIA, SEATTLE APRIL 14

CANADIAN TOUR BEGINS MARCH 25 INCLUDING CMW SHOWCASE ON MAY 7

TORONTO, ON – On April 14, acclaimed Victoria, B.C. singer-songwriter Mike Edel returns with his latest album India, Seattle, released through Cordova Bay Records. Edel hits the road with his band starting March 25, with a Canadian Music Week showcase happening May 7 at the Cameron House in Toronto. A second show at Victoria’s Roxy Theatre has also been added on April 10 due to overwhelming ticket demand. See the full list of dates below.

Pre-Order India, Seattle on iTunes
Produced by Juno Award winner Colin Stewart (Dan Mangan), India, Seattle encapsulates four years of Edel’s extensive North American touring, with its 11 tracks boldly displaying his artistic maturity. The album’s first single “Blue Above The Green” follows on the heels of “East Shore / West Shore,” which has been available as a free download at www.mikeedel.com.

The video for “East Shore / West Shore,” shot on 16mm film at Vancouver’s Warehouse Studios, debuted exclusively at Exclaim.ca. Grayowl Point described it as, “a beautiful song that hopes to bridge the distance between two lovers. The live video for ‘East Shore/West Shore,’ like its song, is warm and filled with sincerity.”

That description has often been applied to Edel’s music, and with India, Seattle he has assembled a collection of songs both emotionally powerful and instantly memorable. “I don’t think personal records are the most immediate, maybe it’s that they are too specific, and mine is specific,” Edel says. “It’s specific to places and moments and snapshots in my mind, and it’s specific to people. I called it India, Seattle.”

Born and raised in rural Alberta, Edel has the work ethic to prove it, having played hundreds of shows across the U.S. and Canada. Since relocating to Victoria in 2009, he has been named The Zone @ 91.3’s Band Of The Month, and in 2012 he earned a top five placing in 102.7 The Peak’s Performance Project. That year was capped off with the track “The Country Where I Came From” being named Single of the Year by the Victoria Times-Colonist. From there, Edel has earned rave reviews for performances at the Victoria International Jazz Fest, Rifflandia Festival and Tall Tree Festival, while also sharing stages with Serena Ryder, Hannah Georgas and Chad Van Gaalen.

“[The Last of Our Mountains] is a delicately catchy record that rolls through its eight tracks as freshly and easily as wind across the harvest.” Calgary Herald

“In the last two years that Mike Edel has been in Victoria he has established himself as one of the region’s go-to musicians” Victoria Times-Colonist

“Edel’s voice is Damien Rice having a meeting with Dan Mangan…” SEE Magazine

“If the Polaris Prize wasn’t enough proof that this country is teeming with talent, then meet Mike Edel.” MuchMusic.com

AUSTRALIAN HARD ROCKERS THE LAZYS SET TO TOUR CANADA THIS SPRING

April 20th at Fernando’s Pub

Australia’s The Lazys eagerly return to Canada this spring, performing headlining dates in addition to shows alongside JUNO Award nominees Danko Jones. The tour announcement comes fresh off the success of their debut Canadian single “Shake It Like You Mean It”(Pheromone Recordings), which hit #2 on CBC’s Rock chart in December 2014. The track was co-written by Ian D’Sa of Billy Talent and produced by Garth “GGGarth” Richardson (Rage Against The Machine, Nickelback, Mötley Crüe), a powerhouse collaboration that The Lazys plan to revisit on new recording sessions in April.

The Lazys have been warmly embraced in North America following their fall 2014 tour where they opened for The Trews, One Bad Son and Big Wreck. The band’s loud and edgy performances at last year’s CMJ Music Marathon in New York City also grabbed the attention of Rolling Stone, which hailed them as the new torchbearers for Australian hard rock. The 2015 tour will kickoff onApril 9 at The Oak in Winnipeg and wrap on May 17 at Hunter’s Ale House in Charlottetown.

“We are so pumped to come back to Canada, our home away from home and play some loud Rock ‘n’ Roll again,” says The Lazys guitarist Mat Morris. “Hitting the road, the stage, sharing a beverage with old and new fans, playing our music from one side of the country to the other. That’s what it’s all about.”

The Lazys quickly became the buzz of last year’s Canadian Music Week (CMW) in Toronto, where they performed three showcases in just 23 hours. Their CMW performances included a set at the legendary Horseshoe Tavern alongside fellow Australians You Am I and a packed show at the Bovine Sex Club. As a result, renowned Canadian artist manager Larry Wanagas of Bumstead Productions signed them to a co-management agreement to represent them worldwide.

“If ‘Shake It Like You Mean It’ was on AC/DC’s latest album, it would

be hailed as a late career classic.”

– Rolling Stone Australia (2015)

The Lazys may just be the new saviours of Rock ‘n’ Roll. Hands down they are

the best new live band I’ve seen all year.”

– Ian D’Sa (Billy Talent)
