CANADIAN TOUR BEGINS MARCH 25 INCLUDING CMW SHOWCASE ON MAY 7
The video for “East Shore / West Shore,” shot on 16mm film at Vancouver’s Warehouse Studios, debuted exclusively at Exclaim.ca. Grayowl Point described it as, “a beautiful song that hopes to bridge the distance between two lovers. The live video for ‘East Shore/West Shore,’ like its song, is warm and filled with sincerity.”
That description has often been applied to Edel’s music, and with India, Seattle he has assembled a collection of songs both emotionally powerful and instantly memorable. “I don’t think personal records are the most immediate, maybe it’s that they are too specific, and mine is specific,” Edel says. “It’s specific to places and moments and snapshots in my mind, and it’s specific to people. I called it India, Seattle.”
Born and raised in rural Alberta, Edel has the work ethic to prove it, having played hundreds of shows across the U.S. and Canada. Since relocating to Victoria in 2009, he has been named The Zone @ 91.3’s Band Of The Month, and in 2012 he earned a top five placing in 102.7 The Peak’s Performance Project. That year was capped off with the track “The Country Where I Came From” being named Single of the Year by the Victoria Times-Colonist. From there, Edel has earned rave reviews for performances at the Victoria International Jazz Fest, Rifflandia Festival and Tall Tree Festival, while also sharing stages with Serena Ryder, Hannah Georgas and Chad Van Gaalen.
