Alberta Songsters Bluebird Bound Tour

The Kelowna Folk Club is very excited to be bringing in such an exciting show as their season opener.
John Wort Hannam and Leeroy Stagger are touring a double bill solo show in BC this fall as they make their way out to perform at Bluebird North in Vancouver.  Both are touring brand new records.

Leeroy Stagger is a Canadian alternative country singer-songwriter and a Western Canadian Music Award Nominee for “Roots Solo Recording of the Year”. Raised in rural British Columbia, Stagger has garnered an international fan base through relentless touring both home and abroad. Leeroy’s songs have been placed in TV shows Grey’s Anatomy, Sons of Anarchy, Degrassi, and Heartland.  Releasing ten albums in ten years Stagger is already well on his way to joining the likes of John Hiatt, Ryan Adams and John Prine as an ambassador for North American roots rock ‘n’ roll.

John Wort Hannam is a Juno Nominee and a Canadian Folk Music Award Winner who writes and sings lyrically driven acoustic roots music in a style somewhere between contemporary and traditional.  One reviewer said. “John’s songs are woven textiles of metaphor, phrasing, irony, and rhyme that read with ease like well-written prose.”
Another said, “Like Tom Russell, Hannam’s narrative, achingly resilient writing approach hooks the listener immediately. The real deal.” But Sing Out! magazine really summed up John’s writing style when they wrote “Hannam makes the world personal instead of his personal life the world.”
