Dan Possumato is an American from Pittsburgh who has been playing traditional Irish music since the 1980’s having learned to play during his 15 year stay in Europe. He travels to the west of Ireland on a regular basis where he collects many esoteric tunes for his repertoire. As he was born on St Patrick’s Day it seems he was destined for this career. Dan plays the old “push and draw” style and he plays both the two row button accordion and the rapidly disappearing one row Irish Melodeon.

Growing up in a London-Irish family, Jamie O’Brien was always surrounded by music, both the songs of Ireland and songs from the British music hall at hooleys (gatherings) most Saturday nights. He began performing as a teenager as a guitarist and singer, delving into a variety of styles but always returning to his Irish roots. Since arriving in America in 1990 he has performed regularly both as a solo act and with several bands. He has appeared with such musicians as Aoife Clancy, Kieran O’Hare and fiddler Jim Egan. He and Dan have worked together since they first met in 2000. And perform frequently throughout the US and Europe.
