Towers and Trees has emerged from Victoria’s fertile music scene on the strength of an infectious live energy, rich sound and earnest songwriting. In February 2013, the indie-folk collective was named the Zone at 91.3 FM’s Band of the Month on the strength of their single, “Montreal,” which may be the station’s most highly requested Band of the Month song ever. Several regional award nominations have followed, including two Vancouver Island Music Awards and four M Awards (Monday Magazine), and the group is now receiving offers from festivals and venues across the province. Towers and Trees focus for the coming year is as clear as it is simple: find joy in playing music and share that joy with as many people as possible. The future is bright indeed.

The warm yet gravely vocal style of Vancouver-based singer/songwriter Greg Drummond captures listeners and pairs unpredictably well with his lively toe-tapping melodies. Whether in front of a crowd or in the studio, Drummond promises to create music of sincerity as he evolves artistically and independently. In November, Drummond’s song “Walking Man” was selected as the $10,000 winner in the “Best of BC” contest hosted by the Shore 104.1 FM in Vancouver. His debut album, for which Walking Man is the lead single and title track, was released in September of 2011.
