Wet Ape and KBAAD present: Jesse Roper w/ Devon Coyote

BC’s Jesse Roper will be releasing his second studio album Red Bird. In celebration of his new record, Roper is headed across western Canada which will see him performing at Fernando’s Cafe in Kelowna, BC on February 26th.
Roper brings a fresh young energy to the timeless genre of blues with his killer guitar riffs and seductively soulful songwriting. Produced by Joby Baker at Baker Studios, his newest album Red Bird is a twelve-track collection of raw emotion that is nothing short of electrifying. From the explosive vitality of the title track “Red Bird” to the seductive hunger of “Any Time of Night”, Roper’s music has an undeniable swagger that can be felt both on and off the stage. You can get a taste of the album with the record’s first single “The Hurricanes Eye“.

WiL in Kelowna March 11th and 13th

February 3, 2015 (Victoria, BC) – Calgary-raised Wil Mimnaugh, aka WiL, started strumming his first guitar at the age of 11 and quickly realized what he was born to do. But knowing is not enough. Add in three decades of tireless commitment to becoming a better singer/songwriter – as WiL puts it, “if you think you’re pretty good – get better,” moving beyond playing covers to bar crowds and eventually ascending to international success with a major ad campaign, and you have a taste of WiL’s adventure chasing his “crazy little dream.”

With his unbridled dedication and the support of local fans (many of whom contributed to the more than $10K raised through FANPUSH), WiL’s 5th studio album, El Paseo, was released in September 2014. The album, aptly named “The Ride” in Spanish, has seen its first single “Make Make” climb the charts, earn a nomination for Best Song on CBC Music Awards and continue its success with the release of an insanely adorable video of a caricatured couple ‘make making’ a life for themselves.

Also recognizable are two of the album’s other tracks, namely “Roam” (which received over 3.5 million YouTube views) and “There Is,” both featured in award-winning Travel Alberta campaigns. In 2014, El Paseo earned WiL countless new fans with a busy touring schedule and rave reviews–the album was described as “his masterpiece” and “an often breathtakingly beautiful and achingly honest work of personal discovery,” by the Calgary Herald. Connecting with listeners at each and every appearance, WiL definitely shines the brightest in his intense, wildly dynamic live performance.

The path to success will be no different in 2015. With a second single in the works, WiL will be opening for Canadian music icon, Burton Cummings throughout the month of March. Kicking off in Victoria, BC on March 8, this tour sees WiL making twelve city stops, providing him the opportunity to deliver his signature live performances, hoping to inspire and change all those who witness them.

Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased online at http://www.ibreakstrings.com/tour-dates.
