About T Riley
Let’s see, what can I say that will make you like my music more? I was born a poor orphan in Mississippi. Some nice gypsy from Head Smashed in Buffalo Jump found me selling matches on the side of the road and took me to Canada, where…..blah, blah, blah. Bios….sheesh. Nutshell for real, after wandering for awhile, I have decided to make Vancouver home base. I have left my job as an airline pilot to do music full time (that part is true). My band is…well…a little No Doubty with dashes of PJ Harvey, a little Sheryl Crow, with dashes of Tool….Blondie…we’re basically schizophrenic in the genre department. You’ll have to judge for yourself. I moved to Vancouver in 2003 after 2 years of grinding it out in the Toronto “rock scene”. Nicely jaded, I needed something more, so I enrolled in the Jazz music program at VCC which was just what I needed. My ears opened up and I met amazing new people and was exposed to amazing new music. I met Ryan Guldemond who started as my guitar teacher, then I quickly recruited him into my band after losing my socks from seeing him perform. Ryan since, however, has gone on to world domination with Mother Mother, so I have recruited Sir Rick Rodney to fill his shoes. The Universe brought me Ali Siadat and his funky beats through mutual friends. Neil Cruikshank, the man of many talents, has joined us to play bass. Crystal Balint, a talented singer-actor-songwriter has recently stepped aboard the project to add her sweet BGs to the mix. Climb aboard, ladies and gentlemen, and enjoy the ride. WE HAVE FINISHED THE T RILEY OPUS, complete with 13 songs to amuse, beguile, and toy with your emotions. Howard Reddekop contributed his fabulous production skills for us. I like it. I think you will too if you give it an honest listen. It is available at our shows, off t-riley.com and various independant record stores, HMV’s accross the country, and Virgin Megastore in Vancouver BONUS…I happen to know an anonymous globe trotter that was lucky enough to be in London when David Bowie joined David Gilmoer at Royal Albert hall for a rendition of comfortably numb. You can check out some of that on video on my video pages. Enjoy! Thanks for checking it out. T-Riley.com
